Jasmine Habersham was born and raised in Macon. Her singing skills blossomed in her formative years with the support of organizations, including James Wimberly Institute, Ozzie Bell McKay Girls Club, Wesleyan’s Mid Summer Fine Arts Camps, and Rutland High School Chorus.

Her musical family was also a strong influence. Her dad, Jerry, was a jazz, blues and church musician. Her mother, Janice was a church pianist and piano teacher and her brother Jeremy is a professional who earned a degree at Morehouse in piano performance. Music was always part of her life and after being exposed to opera, Jasmine chose to become an opera singer.

In 2006, Jasmine became the first James Wimberly Institute Princess. Since then, Jasmine has received many honors through her career. She graduated with Honors from Rutland High School in 2007. She was crowned a 2007 Cherry Blossom Princess. She was awarded a full scholarship to Shorter College in Rome, GA receiving a B.S. in Vocal Performance. Jasmine received a scholarship to Cincinnati Conservatory of Music a earning a masters and an artist diploma.

Jasmine’s musical gift has taken her all over the world including Paris, Rome, London, and Barcelona. She has sung in opera houses all over the United States from New York to San Jose, and Macon’s very own Grand Opera House. She has made the front cover of “Classical Singer” magazine. Jasmine is booked for performances for the next two years. She is truly considered an “International Opera Soprano.”

The San Francisco Chronicle called her “magnificent.” The Twin Cities Arts called her “memorable,” and the Broadway World described her voice as “exquisite.” Jasmine Habersham’s journey from Macon to the World has been sensational with more to come!
